deconstruct2000 asked: Here is the deal. Im in a *** relationship (this is important cause we cant get married). I work at an insurance company, I have been working there for several years. Its kind of an odd pairing. I work in the mailroom and I hit it off with an exec and we started dating. Over the past year and a half, it has gotten more serious. We have kept our respective jobs, and have moved in together. Everything is going great except for one small problem. He wants me to quit my job and keep the house running! We do have a big house we have to hire a few cleaners to do the cleaning, because neither of us has time to do much. When we do have time, we want to spend it together and not cleaning. I do quite a bit of cooking and keep the laundry up. Im just not cut out for the “stay at home and clean” routine, im a guy, and I like to work. Its not a HUGE issue, we are not fighting over it, I have tried telling him I want to keep working, but he keeps insisting.
Help!
Hes not scare we will be found out, its well known around the company, and no one has a problem with it.

ConstantGuidanceNeeded asked: I have been working at the same company in the mailroom for 2 years. In the past I worked with a girl in the mailroom along with the supervisor at that time. In that time period she and I did not get along at all, I was talked about behind my back, called names and made fun of for the fact that when they would talk about *** it would make me very uncomfortable and would get embarassed. She would make comments like “lets see if we can make her blush today”. I know now that this qualifies under sexual harassment but at the time I just tried to ignore it. Also in that time period she and that supervisor became good friends, taking 2 hour lunches and lots of 30 minute breaks to leave me to do all of the work, only to sit around and talk about how lazy I was. At one point the co-worker and supervisor had a falling out and the co-worker switched positions. After she left the supervisor and I got along very well, work got done and we were perfectly civil to each other. We had a third person start in the mailroom not too long ago and the former co-worker developed a sexual relationship with him (verified by both of them to me just with different versions of how it ended) and she also developed a VERY close friendship with the assistant director of operations, going out partying, drinkin’..etc… The mailroom supervisor got a new position and the supervisor position was posted. Myself (who might I add at the time was 3 months pregnant) and the former coworker both applied for the position and she got it, even though she was constantly in trouble for poor performance and had no supervisory experience. One of the hiring managers was the manager that she is close friends with. I was told that I was not qualified, yet I was expected to answer all of her questions about how things were run in the mailroom. Since she is now my supervisor she is still talking about me to my coworker with whom she had the sexual relationship, she talks to me about HIM. She has shared with him information about the amount of PTO I have and my attendance. Also she is becoming irate with me every time I have to be out of work, including an incident in which I was put in the hospital over night for dehydration. I went to the head director of operations and expressed my concerns…including the ON GOING sexual harassment…..ie……asking me about stuff I tried, talking about her experiences etc…. and the director is pretty much making it sound like there is going to just be a big “band aide” put on the problem and that they really aren’t going to do anything about any of it. Also this same day the co-worker she had the relationship with went to the director with his concerns. She has scheduled a meeting with the head of HR tomorrow but if she is not terminated I don’t know HOW I will continue working as things are bad enough as it is and I fear retaliation. I guess I just need some advice in general on how to deal with the situation and what recourse I have if they keep her and just try to “deal with the issues”. I am at a total loss and I am worried about the stress level in the office as I already had problems with high blood pressure from stress in past pregnancies. HELP!!!!!!
